Top 5 Influences on his new album 'Current' / Santé

1. Talking Heads - This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)
One of the best songs ever written. Makes me feel at home wherever I am in the world. David is one of my all time favourite artists.

2. Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Raw! Rough! Emotional! The quality of the song writing is what pushed me to try my hand at more traditional song writing, which inspired a number of the tracks on the album.

3. Aphex Twin - Window Licker
Unbelievable track, when i heard this the first time I was blown away, I must have rewound it over a million times. The pastiche of sounds and textures was really inspiring to my own process as a producer.

4. Summer 78 - Yann Tiersen
Yann Tiersen and his incredible piano lines! There is so much emotion in this piece of music, that you don't even need a vocal... The instrumental tracks in my album are particular influenced by this piece.

5. Massive Attack - Teardrop
Trip hop from the late 80s and 90s is a big love of mine. Massive Attack were at the forefront of creating a new genre, this song represents the whole sound for me.

As the Berlin-based maestro’s own persona grows in both popularity and notoriety, and his budding AVOTRE label goes from strength to strength, the timing couldn’t be better for Santé to release his sophomore LP. Santé’s debut album, invites & entices the listener in to discovering what lies beneath the surface of this enigmatic and energetic DJ and producer.

'Current' is out 27th October on AVOTRE
