I know what you're all thinking; "why hasn't Hollywood made a coming of age drama about EDM yet?" I know I am, and while the thought hasn't exactly kept me up at night or affected my sex life, it's certainly caused me to run a few red lights in residential areas. Luckily, I can now rest easy because mega-hunk Zac Efron is starring in a new film called We Are Your Friends, which follows his plucky DJ-type character's journey from frat house party promoter to UV festival button pusher!!!!
If America's corporate appropriation of dance music makes you hurl onto your TB-303, then it may be wise to give this trailer a miss. If it does pay homage to the genre's Detroit roots and subsequent journey through the UK, then they left that bit out of the trailer.
BUT, it does feature gratuitous shots of bros discussing start-up ideas, pool parties and - perhaps most importantly - that ridiculously attractive girl from the 'Blurred Lines' video. I think her name is Emily Ratajowski.
See you at the cinema!!
