Onitsuka Tiger Tansu Sneaker | Don't Panic online Magazine

Every year, Onitsuka Tiger creates a giant Sneaker sculpture inspired by their Japanese roots. This year, they’re collaborating with Japanese wood shop Ogura Tansu Ten to make a Sneaker Tansu Chest.

Tansu is an ancient art where carpentry, lacquering and ironwork are combined in traditional Japanese style. Ancient Tansu chests were personal drawers characteristic for being easy to move and take with you. Just as original Tansu chests, the Onitsuka Tiger Sneaker will be going on a world tour, visiting flagship stores and trade fairs. For those of you who won’t be available to catch the Sneaker live, an interactive stop-motion experience is available online. Just like a Japanese monk, the interactive Tansu Sneaker holds many stories.
