In 2014, as a response to violent events that'd taken place in Sydney's party district King's Cross, the New South Wales government introduced a raft of strict legislation. This included significantly increased fines for 'disorderly behaviour', booze shops to close at 10PM and for venues to stop admitting people at 1.30AM and stop serving drinks at 3AM. Unsurprisingly it's had a terrible impact on the city's nightlife, with vibrant venues now a shadow of their former selves. Here's a few of them:
