APPARENT FOOTAGE OF BERNIE SANDERS'S 1963 ARREST

Over 50 years ago, current U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was a student civil rights activist, campaigning in order to defeat racist practices like segregation. During a summer 1963 protest in Chicago, Sanders was arrested for resisting arrest, found guilty and fined $25. Although photos of Sanders around this period are common, here is little before seen footage of what appears to be the Vermont senator getting detained by the police.

Is this Bernie Sanders being arrested? from Kartemquin Films on Vimeo.
