Back in the 80s, Mark Reeder was stranded behind the Iron Curtain in West Berlin. The volatile political situation created a similar culture of unrest throughout the walled-off city. Except instead of atomic threats and sanctions, this bred a creative, unpredictable atmosphere, where art, music and chaos could prosper.
It was a time of real sub-cultures and meaningful transgression. He captured some incredible footage of the city and its people, which has been turned into a doc called B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West Berlin. The trailer alone would be worth the price of admission:
