BRITAIN'S DRUNKEN SHAME GOES ON DISPLAY

Sadly, Britain is also pretty good at boozing, and when booze meets transport the results are pretty detrimental, as Network Rail is determined to prove.

In the last year more than 16,000 people have been hurt in falls at 17 stations across the UK, the majority of these incidents occurring under the influence of alcohol. As part of its new safety campaign, Network Rail has released CCTV of its stations most boozy incidents.

The arguably fucking hilarious footage shows an array of drunken mishaps, from tumbling down escalators like a pro, to commuters falling onto tracks after failed attempts to kick a pigeon in the face.

The video, alongside an array of posters, will be played on screens across 17 stations.

British Transport Police Deputy Chief Constable Paul Crowther had the following to say, ‘Encouraging passengers to be more aware of their surroundings, particularly when they have had a drink, will, we hope, reduce avoidable slips and falls across the network.’

I’m more concerned with the public’s understanding of exactly what constitutes as animal cruelty, because last time I checked murdering a pigeon by stamping on its head was pretty uncool, but whatever.

I’m also intrigued to see how much of an impact the display of these videos will have, because if I know Great Britain and its fondness for a big old bout of banter like I think I do, I can’t see this campaign encouraging too large a proportion of people to abandon their beloved WKD side. I’m drunk, am I going to mind the gap? Fuck no.

But it’s a free world so why not decide for yourself by having a go on the video below.

And here are some screen shots for lolz.

BRITAIN, YOU SO BOOZY!
