A driver filmed his nail-biting escape from a wildfire in Anderson Springs, California, as the forest surrounding the road began to melt. Although I'm sure I'd feel different if I was behind the wheel, the scene is oddly beautiful. Until the very end that is, when incinerated houses make it all very real.
The Valley fire in Lake County continues to rage untamed after scorching 61,000 acres (95 square miles) in just two days. The governor of California has declared a state of emergency and thousands of residents have been displaced.
