DUTY OF CARE: PROTECTING CHILDREN IN WAR

For many children war is a brutal reality, not something reserved for a screen.

War Child UK's latest campaign follows Nima, a nine-year-old girl, as she battles her way through a war zone in the style of a first person shooter. The events she witnesses in the 'game', including the death of her father, are drawn from real-life testimonies of children in War Child’s projects across Africa and the Middle East.

Duty Of Care: Protecting Children In War is demanding the attendants at next year's World Humanitarian Summit increase their efforts to protect children in war zones. A recent statistic revealed that less than 3% humanitarian funding is spent on protecting children, even though they account for over 50% of the population.

War Child's HELP campaign is requesting you sign an online petition to help change this, and to ensure that young lives are saved.
