If you feel like there's a hole in your life that really needs to be filled with malaise and crushing sadness, then watch this highlight from the Women's World Cup:
That's England's Laura Bassett scoring a savage own goal in the final minutes of the semi-final, putting Japan 2-1 up. Japan went on to win the match.
I can't even begin to fathom how terrible she must feel. Yep, really, truly, terrible.
Although I doubt it's much consolation for Laura, the team's performance in the tournament has raised the profile of the women's game to a previously unseen level. Own goal aside, there's far more glory in going out in the semi-final than crashing out in the group stages - like their male counterparts.
