In June 2007, a year before he clinched the Democratic nomination for the presidential election, Barack Obama was working hard on the campaign trail, navigating the country to build support for his campaign. The then-senator gave a speech at a sparsely attended event in Greenwood, South Carolina, where he felt tired and losing faith in his efforts. However, a woman in the crowd, Edith S. Childs, shouted out a phrase that'd become an Obama slogan: 'fired up, ready to go!'. This animation is inspired by that day, with 12 artists illustrating it vividly; take a look...
