Located all over London in Soho, Mornington Crescent, Kings Cross, Fulham, Liverpool Street, Fitzrovia, and Tower Bridge, are the bars who hold the title 'Best Happy Hour of 2015', awarded by DesignMyNight. And rightly so, because each of their venues have a happy hour that lasts for FIVE hours every day of the week.
Unlike other 'happy' hours, which usually start at 6pm (adding a new pressure to our evening commute), Simmons' run from 4pm - 9pm (except Simmons Soho and Liverpool Street, which is 3pm - 8pm). As well as having more manageable drinking hours, Simmons' happy hour stretches across the drinks menu to include bottled beers, single mixers and spirits and glasses of wine at only £2.50, plus, two cocktails for £10 and cocktail teapots for just £15.
That's, like, Wetherspoons cheap, but better, because Simmons take pride in their delicious drinks menu, whereas you're lucky if you get ice and a slice in spoons. Plus, the lighting in Simmons doesn't give you a headache and the carpet isn't sticky.
The decor is actually worth mentioning. Neon lights, kitsch lamps, retro trinkets and patterned wallpapers line each bar. Show off your Mario Kart skills on their SNES or Sega Megadrive and the cocktails are served up in tea-cups, just 'cos.
Great for students, great for commuters and great for the bank account: www.simmonsbar.co.uk
