French unions and employers have come to an agreement that employees will no longer check their work-related email outside of work hours. The legally binding deal is part of the 35-hour work week that France started upholding in 1999.
The email ban comes after years of concerns from chill French bros that the 35-hour week creeping ever closer to 40, thanks to the rise of smartphones and employers' increasing demands.
This blogpost goes out to the PR girl who emailed me at 8.30pm on Christmas Eve to tell me a band I'd never heard of had announced a tour that didn't even begin until March. Her bosses must suck.
