KING PENGUIN PROMOTED TO NORWEGIAN BRIGADIER IN CEREMONY

Some context for what may seem like a strange story: in the early 1970s, a Norwegian army lieutenant visited Edinburgh Zoo, was charmed by the penguins he saw and thought it'd be a nice idea to make one an honourary member. This has grown from being a fun idea into a ceremony of dozens of Norwegian guardsmen, a message from the country's king and medals. Yesterday, knight Sir Nils Olav was promoted to Brigadier, here's a video of the event. When the Russians come spilling into western Europe, perhaps the whole military thing should've been taken more seriously, hmmmm?
