Upscale Toronto shopping centre Yorkdale Mall has decided to revamp their Christmas holiday experience with a trim, designer clothes dressed Santa Claus.
As part of a festive campaign to benefit the charity Sick Kids Foundation, veteran model Paul Mason poses for photos with visitors, with each picture costing a dollar for the foundation. Mason also works for the shopping centre in an advisory and modelling capacity.
Is this the creeping of hipsterdom into a period that's meant to be all about consumerism? Does this Santa just feed his reindeer organic grains, dress his elves in vintage and take Mrs. Claus to ambient-experimental shows? We shudder to think.
