The Mayor of Paris might sue Fox News for it’s inaccurate reporting of Paris following the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks.
Yep, Paris might actually take Fox News to court. Shit.
Anne Hidalgo told CNN on Tuesday that the honour and image and Paris had been prejudiced –
If you don’t already know, you’re probably wondering what Fox said that could be so bad to result in this. Well, Fox News broadcast an interview with a Mr Nolan Peterson. Which isn’t an offense in itself, but Mr Peterson did go onto say that Paris had ‘no-go’ areas – places in the city where non-Muslims were not allowed to enter, including the police.
French news and entertainment programme, ‘Le Petit Journal’, showed the Fox report and set the record straight –
But of course, such zones don’t exist. In fact, USAtoday.com even said that on another French television show it was explained these ‘no-go’ areas were selected based on the resident’s income levels and employment rates. Wow.
This comes not long after Fox interviewed Steve Emerson, who said that Birmingham here in the UK was full of 'no-go' zones for non-Muslims.:
Fox News has since apologised multiple times (for both inaccuracies) but who knows if it’s enough to defuse this situation.
Do you think going to court is necessary?
