You might remember Adam Curtis for his 2015 film Bitter Lake, a sprawling, stylish documentary which explored topics such as relations between the US and Saudi Arabia, military interventions in Afghanistan and failing media narratives. In mid-October Curtis will release HyperNormalisation to BBC iPlayer; this further explores the idea of failing narratives to explain a complex world, taking into account events such as Colonel Gaddafi's rule over Libya, Donald Trump's presidential run and Brexit.
