Rough Cut depicts the re-making of a film that never was. First time director Jamie Shovlin wrote a full screenplay for a 70s style slasher flick called Hiker Meat, and even filmed most of the movie during an intense shoot in the Lake District last summer.
He then chopped up the footage and interviewed the cast for the sake of creating a making-of documentary - for a thriller that never existed. It sounds like a mind-bending exploration of ontology in the arts, and it's showing at the Whitechapel Gallery on 31 July.
