Atlantic Road runs between Brixton High St and Coldharbour Lane parallel to the raised rail line in Brixton, south London. Last year a Wahaca opened on the street. But now the powers that be want more. More Wahaca's, and more, and more moderately priced mid-market chains aimed at upwardly-mobile citizens. MORE!
As a result, the wide-array of independent businesses located in the railway arches on the road have reportedly been asked to vacate the premises to make way for a 'regeneration' plan, or what you could affectionately call 'community cleansing'.

Many current residents don't think this is right. Most of those businesses still do a roaring trade, and many of them have done so for the past 30 years.
