Homophobic law in Russia outlaws any apparent "gay propaganda", meaning Electronic Arts have had to to give their latest game,The Sims 4 an 18+ rating in Russia, due to the characters allowing to have same-sex relations.
In 2013 Putin banned the "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relationships", with a so-called aim of protecting children. Instead it resulted in wide-spread homophobia and horrendous violence towards the gay community in Russia.
Electronic Arts say that they currently have no intentions to change the game in the slightest, but unfortunately have to abide by the rating rules in order to sell the game in the country.
