Recently, we heard that Donald Trump had fired Acting Assistant General Sally Yates - an Obama appointee - due to her advice that the U.S. Department of Justice shouldn't follow Trump's dubious ban on people travelling from seven Muslim-majority countries. Citing Yates' apparent 'betrayal', Trump has temporarily hired Dana Boente to replace her but is aiming for the role to be permanently filled by senator Jeff Sessions, pending Senate approval. However, awkwardly for Trump, in this video Sessions advocates that independent legal experts such as Attorney Generals should be willing to stand up to questionable executive actions.
