TWIN PEAKS X SCOOBY DOO

Here's something I bet you didn't know: the eleventh incarnation of Hanna-Barbera’s Scooby-Doo cartoon was called Scooby-Doo! Mystery! Incorporated!, and it ran on the Cartoon Network from 2010 til this month.

Apparently, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated! was designed to be as sinister as possible, with hat-tips to A Nightmare on Elm Street, the Saw franchise, Twin Peaks, and fucking H.P. Lovecraft. How did Hanna-Barbera brand managers let this go down? Why was no one alerted that this was going on until after it had finished showing? Why wasn't this whole thing a bigger deal to the world? What's happened here is essentially the dictionary definition of postmodernism, I can't deal with it. Also:

In particular, in the second season, the central story arc of the show evolves to heavily feature the use of Babylonian mythology, exploring the Anunnaki, the Babylonian and modern pseudo-scientific concepts of Nibiru, and the writings of Zecharia Sitchin.

Huh.
