Michael Gove meets... Wham!

During a visit to a school, Michael Gove was asked about his apparent love of rap music (I'm not delving into fucking chap hop, you can find out about that here) and revealed that a formative influence was the Wham! Rap. Gove spat these bars a few years ago, he could never know how prophetic the lyrics would be; 'got street credibility' signals his high status in Middle England's quiet lanes, where comfortable Conservatives have had enough of experts, and 'I may not have a job' predicts his fall from grace after stabbing Boris Johnson in the back. As eerie as you'd expect from a grown man who enjoys Tinie Tempah.

Tom Watson dabs during Prime Minister's Questions

From Drenge to Glastonbury Festival, there's seemingly no music trend Labour's Tom Watson won't leap on with aplomb. In February this year, during Prime Minister's Questions, Watson responded to a particularly good point from Jeremy Corbyn with the dance move beloved by Atlanta rappers, Paul Pogba and university students; the dab. Has hip-hop become so respectable that its influence abounds in Parliament? Or was Watson showing that his loyalties lie with trendy young people? It's one for the historians to judge.
