In the same way the Harry Potter studio tour has provided a new opportunity for super fans to act like idiots in front of blue screens (I know, as I have done this), the exhibition will have cringe worthy photos ops (see below - this was a press release image, so this really is the best they can do...), glass cabinets so plebs can't get their greasy fingers on the props, and more than likely an exit through a gift shop.
Despite my cynicism, this could be pretty cool, I'm just bitter as I want Magneto's helmet (that's not an innuendo) and cape.
At the exhibition you will also be able to:
- Test out the latest augmented reality technology. See your hands transform with claws like Wolverine, shoot lightning bolts like Storm, or throw metal objects like Magneto
- Film your own Sky News report from the Sky News HD Desk and present the X-Men headlines from major scenes in the latest film, then share it with your friends
- Take a close look at the costumes worn by your favourite X-Men stars in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Original costumes on display include Wolverine’s jacket, as worn by Hugh Jackman, the outfit worn by the mutant Storm (Halle Berry) and the iconic helmet and cape made famous by Magneto (Michael Fassbender)
- Marvel at a copy of the final script used on set during the making of the film and take a close look at Professor Xavier’s Wheelchair, as used by James McAvoy
